Santini Prosoft women's tights review

Santini give the lay-deez a chance to wear their luxurious winter Super Roubaix fabric in this well-cut toasty tight. The fleecy, soft and medium-thickness Super Roubaix is an absolute pleasure to wear and just right for most UK winter days – there's no water proofing, but we felt that was a plus as these stayed breathable and bearable on 18°C sunny autumn days but were enough to keep us warm on drizzly 5°C mornings.

Silicone grippers at the waist and ankles keep them in place, and though we found the legs a bit long (admittedly, we're pretty short), the soft stretch and smart contrasting panels gave a really good fit. The new Pro Grace pad is well shaped and protective without being too thick. But we did have one issue, and it's a crucial one: there's an awkward seam down the middle of the tight which encourages the chamois to fold in an unflattering and at times painful manner. This may be down to individual fit so, as ever, we'd say try before you buy – it's a shame because this is an otherwise beautiful pair of tights.
