Michelin Krylion Carbon road tyre review

The Krylion Carbon is faster than any tyre tougher than it, and tougher than any tyre faster than it. The casing is nice and supple, despite bead-to-bead protection and a synthetic belt under the tread. This protection isn't impregnable but it's effective: we've picked up two punctures in well over 3000 miles on our current pair.

The carbon-black reinforced rubber feels harder than many rivals, granting excellent wear life. Hardness trades off against 'feel' and 'cornering security', though we've never even come close to losing it on wet roads.
