VDO X1DW computer review

This computer offers slightly bulky but comprehensive data in a user-friendly, easy to see display. The head is chunky and the mount adds a bit more height, but it can fit onto bars or stems and the sensor zip-ties on easily.

The multiple display is busier than most, with time permanently displayed in the top left corner, speed functions nice and big in the top right, and the sub-menu with description tag underneath. The flashing zero where cadence should be presented is a bit annoying if you haven’t got the optional cadence kit however, and there’s no backlight.

The two forwards and back buttons for the sub-menu save a lot of scrolling. Side buttons, full menu text guidance and automatic recognition for two bikes makes set-up simple too. We had no interference issues with the coded transmission, and the computer comes with a five-year guarantee.
