There's a reason pasta has always been a go-to fuel for athletes: It's low in fat and delivers quick energy in the form of easy-to-digest carbohydrates. And with more, and better-tasting (see "We Ate It, We Rate It," p. 23), whole-grain pastas available today, it's easier than ever to eat healthy. Whole grains are rich in fiber, protein, and other nutrients (including B vitamins and iron) that reduce the risks of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and obesity.
