These red anodised Halo Mercury wheels are lovely and light despite a 30mm rim depth, and they turn smoothly on their sealed bearings. The freehub uses a 30-point, three-pawl freewheel, which picks up promptly but makes a lot of noise when freewheeling.
The rear wheel gives brake rub even with a 65kg rider and it picked up a slight bump in its concentricity during testing. The spoke tension meter explains why: some of the left-hand spokes were super-slack.
