Using a classic Roubaix fabric and a simple six panel construction, the Shields are great value, warm and comfortable. The fabric has a water repellent finish which works well in light rain, only getting overwhelmed in serious rain. They don't come with a pad, they're designed to be used with your normal shorts. Otherwise, they have all the features we look for in winter tights: reflective detailing, a comfortable bib section with good midriff coverage, and stirrups on the ankles.
