Northwave Verve SBS women’s shoes review

These good looking shoes from Northwave have a broad last, which is ideal if you struggle to find shoes wide enough, but narrow feet tend to move around as you pedal even when Velcro straps are tight. On the plus side the carbon reinforced sole is stiff and we experienced no heel lift thanks to Northwave’s ‘Omega’ heel.

Our initial concerns about a basic footbed proved unfounded, and the well designed ratchet mechanism allows small fit adjustments to be made while you’re on the bike. The top strap’s Velcro attachment means its length can be be reduced, but on the small size we tested this made it stiff and bulky.
