Magicshine MJ872 front light review

Magicshine's latest light, the MJ872, is an impressively broad beamed, trail friendly set-up at a bargain price. The simple ribbed barrel head with four Cree XPG LEDs fits securely on the bars with O-rings and the relatively small battery straps in place easily. The whole back of the light is a soft glowing twin-switch panel which lets you toggle through the four light levels and shows remaining run time, traffic light style.

Rear light bleed means reach is short and spread limited for an alleged 1,600 Lumen light, but it's brighter than most lights around £100. It's warrantied for a year, with the option to upgrade to a higher quality two-year warranty Open Light battery in the same (£16 extra) or larger capacities.
