ENVE seatpost review

ENVE's sleek single-piece carbon shaft and head design comes in just under the crucial 200g 'properly lightweight' benchmark. The post is available with a zero offset or a kinked 25mm offset in most of the popular sizes. Spare saddle clamp pieces for carbon railed saddles are included too.

The super-high price is about ballpark. But the single-bolt design just isn't up to even light off-road use. Tightened to 12Nm torque, the saddle nose shot up as soon as we hit a compression, and it kept on doing it however much we tightened it. Loosening the wedges to reposition the saddle once any grit got into them involved serious leverage and trail side rock hammers too.
