Like a lot of the best performing mini pumps, Birzman's Horizons model comes with a separate detachable hose, making it much more convenient to use when you're stuck by a roadside without a track pump. This is sealed within the barrel, a rubber head keeping it safely in place when not in use.
The shaft of the pump is larger in diameter than most – over 1cm – and combined with the all-aluminium construction it has a durable feel. The hose comes with a reversible Presta/Schrader chuck, the Presta head screwing to the barrel of the valve for a secure seal.
