Gore Bike Wear Oxygen GTX AS jacket review

We were one of the lucky few to get a sample of Gore's new ultralight, ultra breathable jacket and it's the ultimate high-performance waterproof jacket. Active Shell is the latest and most breathable lightweight Gore Tex fabric yet. The inside backing layer embedded into the waterproof, breathable laminate makes it feel much less clammy against bare skin than other bike jackets.

Base layers stay remarkably dry underneath even on strenuous rides, so while it's very thin it stays reasonably warm in the wet without being too sweaty to use as a windproof top layer all day. While there are no pockets to keep weight (196g) and pack size minimal the long dropped tail is beautifully fitted over your bum in the ride position and the neck is nice and tall. Pleated cuffs with zip closure give fantastic minimum flap and water creep fit too, but shaping is athletic.
